On January 20th, actress Kang So Ra appeared as a guest on the KBS2 variety show 'Car wash JANG' and revealed that she is a 'second-hand trading enthusiast.' During the show, Kang shared that her rating on a second-hand trading platform had reached 57.7 degrees, affirming her passion for buying and selling pre-owned items.
When asked by the host, Jang Sung Kyu, about the factors that influence the platform's 'temperature' rating, Kang explained, "The temperature rises when you engage in transactions with good manners." She continued, "I do both face-to-face and online transactions, but there are fewer people who recognize me in person. When they do, they often ask how I’m able to do the transaction in person."
Kang also mentioned that she trades various items, including baby products, luxury goods, clothes, and cosmetics. She emphasized that she enjoys the process of finding and exchanging items in the second-hand market.
In response to a question about her rare appearances on variety shows, Kang admitted, "My agency didn’t allow me to appear on variety programs often. I used to be overly enthusiastic and it impacted my acting work."
Jang Seong Gyu, who is also from Kang So Ra’s neighborhood in Gangdong-gu, shared a moment of camaraderie with her, mentioning that his neighboring area, Songpa-gu, was close by.
Kang So Ra also opened up about her high school years, saying that her image in the film Sunny was quite different from her real-life personality. "I was very shy in school. I used to draw comics by the window in the back row, and the more I drew, the better I got," she recalled.
On a personal note, Kang So Ra married a Korean medicine doctor in 2020, who is eight years older than her. The couple welcomed their first daughter in 2021 and their second daughter in December 2023.
