Red Velvet’s Joy renews contract with SM Entertainment.
Red Velvet’s Joy has renewed her contract with SM Entertainment, continuing their long-standing partnership. With SM’s full support, she plans to engage in diverse activities as a singer, actress, and entertainer.
Joy expressed her commitment to the renewed collaboration, stating, “Over the past 10 years, I’ve built trust and belief with the people at SM. Through deep conversations, I felt that moving forward together in a positive direction would be the right choice. I’ll do my best to showcase my diverse sides to fans through this synergy with SM.”
SM Entertainment also shared its enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to continue our journey with Joy following Slgi and Irene’s renewals. We will ensure that Joy fully realizes her potential not only as a Red Velvet member but also as the solo artist ‘Joy’ and actress ‘Park Soo Young.’”
Debuting in 2014 with ‘Happiness,’ Red Velvet has delivered iconic hits such as ‘Ice Cream Cake,’ ‘Red Flavor,’ ‘Feel My Rhythm,’ and ‘Cosmic,’ establishing a unique identity with versatile music and concepts. In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the group successfully concluded an Asia fan-con tour last September, reaffirming their global popularity.
Individually, Joy made a splash with her 2021 special album ‘Hello,’ which showcased her clear vocal tone and earned love across generations. Beyond music, she has explored various fields, including hosting, acting in dramas, contributing to OSTs, and making her mark in the fashion industry.
