Jimin, formerly a member of AOA, announced her return to YouTube on the 5th via her social media account.
She revealed plans to meet her fans in celebration of her birthday on the 8th, at a café in Seoul. Jimin shared, "Although it's a difficult time for everyone, I wanted to give back the love I've received, so instead of a birthday party, I decided to prepare a birthday café. During this tough time, let's comfort each other and make sure to give each other a hug."
Along with this announcement, she also released an image with the words "Yes, I want to meet you..." written on it.
Additionally, she mentioned, "I’ve decided to open a YouTube channel for the new year of 2025," confirming her transformation into a YouTuber. She revealed that the first upload date will be announced later.
Jimin left AOA in 2020 following the bullying controversy, and she also withdrew from the entertainment industry. After retracting her retirement announcement, she signed a new exclusive contract with a different agency and returned to the public eye through JTBC's The Second World after two years. However, her activities since then have been minimal.
Now, Jimin is signaling a full-fledged return, starting with active communication with her fans.
Her announcement has also reignited interest in the unresolved controversy with Mina, who accused Jimin in 2020 of bullying her for 10 years, claiming that other members of AOA ignored the situation.
In addition to her YouTube plans, Jimin joined the wave of tributes and support following the tragic crash of a Jeju Air flight at Muan International Airport. On the 14th, she confirmed her donation in honor of the victims, stating, "What I can do feels so small, and I always feel sorry about that. Although it's a tiny gesture, I hope it reaches them. I am truly proud and thankful to all those volunteering on-site."
Her contribution further demonstrated her commitment to supporting those in need during challenging times.
