BOYNEXTDOOR to release Japanese version of hit song ‘오늘만 I LOVE YOU’
BOYNEXTDOOR will release their Japanese digital single, ‘今日だけ I LOVE YOU (Japanese Ver.)’ at midnight on January 31st KST. This track is the Japanese version of their recent Korean hit ‘오늘만 I LOVE YOU’, which was released on January 6th KST.
The song, known for its relatable lyrics portraying vivid post-breakup emotions paired with an upbeat melody, has been dubbed the “MZ breakup anthem.” It captivated both fans and the general public, achieving career-high milestones on various charts. The track debuted at No. 4 on Melon’s “Top 100” shortly after its release and steadily climbed the daily chart, peaking at No. 20 on January 12th. It also reached No. 32 on Melon’s weekly chart for the January 6–12 period, marking a personal best for the group.
The song’s success extended to Japan as well. Upon release, ‘오늘만 I LOVE YOU’ entered the Oricon Daily Digital Single Rankings at No. 8, achieving the highest rank among 5th-generation K-pop boy groups. It also topped Line Music’s “Daily Top Songs” chart on January 9th.
In addition to the single release, BOYNEXTDOOR is hosting a pop-up event, ‘BOYNEXTDOOR POP UP STORE ‘KNOCK ON Vol.1’ in TOKYO/OSAKA,’ showcasing official merchandise and products related to their character ‘BNECDO’ (Ppuneckdo). The Tokyo pop-up runs from January 25th to February 5th, while the Osaka event is scheduled from February 1st to February 9th.
The group will also kick off their first solo tour, ‘BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR ‘KNOCK ON Vol.1’,’ starting in Tokyo on January 30th. The tour will cover six cities across Japan, including Aichi (February 2nd), Osaka (February 8–9), Miyagi (February 15th), Fukuoka (February 18–19), and Kanagawa (February 22–24), with a total of 12 performances.
