IU and TWICE displayed their sweet and playful friendship.
On December 16, a video titled '[IU's Palette] Merry TWICEmas to U ahead (With TWICE) Ep.30' was uploaded on her YouTube channel 'IU Official' as part of her series 'IU's Palette.' The conversation with TWICE, who appeared as guests, was filled with warmth and laughter from start to finish.
IU kicked off the conversation by asking, "Does anyone remember when we first met?" Nayeon responded immediately, "I remember it vividly," and shared a story from TWICE's early debut days. She said, "I think it was right after we debuted with 'Like OOH-AHH.' We attended our first year-end music festival near COEX. I remember seeing IU sunbaenim washing her hands in the restroom. She was wearing a purple velvet outfit with black pants and had straight hair." Her incredibly detailed memory left IU and all the TWICE members in awe.
IU, in turn, recalled her own memorable moment with Nayeon, saying, "I remember Nayeon giving me a sunflower at the Gaon Chart Music Awards. It felt so natural that I thought she was handing them out to everyone." The memory had everyone laughing. Nayeon added, "I worked up the courage to give it to you. Thinking back now, my heart might explode from embarrassment."
IU continued, "It felt like Nayeon had prepared for it so naturally that I thought she was handing sunflowers to everyone, one by one." Nayeon explained blushing, "Looking back, I was pretty brave back then." IU revealed, "I was so grateful that I carried it around for months. It meant so much to me. Also, every time I won an award, TWICE would clap so much for me. There was even a time when I got lost, and they helped me find my way."
IU also expressed her gratitude to TWICE for appearing as guests at one of her past concerts. Member Jeongyeon then confessed her admiration for IU, saying, "I bought 'The Golden Hour' DVD, and I loved it so much that I kept replaying it while on tour." She added, "I regret not bringing it with me to get it signed." IU shared a fun story of her encounter with Jeongyeon and shared "Jeongyeon asked me to sign the back of her phone during her break."
As the friendly chatter continued, IU expressed her genuine affection for TWICE, saying, "I'm not just saying this because I think TWICE is pretty or to show support — I really like you all." TWICE members responded with equal affection, saying, "We really like you too. Our hearts just skipped a beat!" The heartwarming moment created a touching atmosphere.
The most surprising moment came when Tzuyu suddenly blurted out, "Please date me!" Her unexpected confession shocked everyone and brought the studio to laughter. IU, caught off guard, laughed and asked, "Who said that?" Her playful reaction continued as she joked, "Now that made my heart skip a beat!"
