SM Entertainment and MBC have formed a business partnership for the advancement of the domestic virtual content industry.
Representatives of SM Entertainment and MBC including SM Entertainment CEO Tak Young Joon, Chief Creative Officer Park Joon Young, MBC Chief Director Ahn Hyung Joon, Director of MBC's Entertainment Branch Jun Jin Su, and Virtual Content Business Task Force Director Noh Si Young attended a partnership agreement ceremony at the MBC building on December 11 KST.
Through the partnership, SM Entertainment and MBC plan to collaborate for the advancement of the domestic virtual content industry by creating premier content featuring SM Entertainment's first virtual artist, nævis. The partnership will include nævis's debut performance on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' as well as a variety of other contents.
Meanwhile, nævis debuted in September of this year with her first single, "Done". The virtual singer is known for her flexibility as a character, with versions rendered using hyperreal VFX, casual 3-D, 2D, and more. The singer's voice and other audiovisual contents are created using AI technology.
