Singer Lee Seung Hwan expresses gratitude amidst Gumi concert cancellation.
On December 25th KST, singer Lee Seung Hwan shared a message of gratitude following the cancellation of his concert in Gumi.
Lee posted on his official channel, “I deeply appreciate the solidarity shown by ‘Musician Union.’ As pointed out, the dedicated staff and band members who work tirelessly for my performances are also victims of this cancellation.”
He continued, “On the afternoon of the 23rd, the concert planning company ‘Haneul ENT,’ at the request of ‘Dream Factory,’ agreed to partially compensate those affected. Specifically, 40% of the estimated fees will be paid to the sound, lighting, stage structure, hair and makeup, video equipment, and technician teams, as well as to the stage crew and VJ team. For band members, 50% of their session fees will be compensated. The security team has expressed their decision to forgo compensation.”
Lee concluded with, “There would be no concert without them. I extend my comfort and encouragement to the staff and band members.”
Previously, Lee Seung Hwan was set to hold his 35th-anniversary concert, ‘HEAVEN,’ at the Gumi Culture and Arts Center on December 25th. However, the Gumi City government canceled the event, citing concerns over public safety and Lee’s refusal to sign a pledge prohibiting political statements.
Lee Seung Hwan’s team has since announced plans to file a damages lawsuit against the mayor of Gumi City for the cancellation.
