Another year has flown by, and as we welcome 2025, it's time to reflect on the unique age-counting system in South Korea.
In South Korea, there are three ways of calculating age: Actual age, Korean age, and year age. Actual age is also known as the international age, where age is based on your birthday. The year age is calculated by subtracting your birth year from the current year. The Korean age is a system that considers a person one-year-old at birth, and everyone gains a year on New Years Day.
What is also interesting is for South Koreans, turning 20 is a significant milestone where it marks adulthood and individuals can legally drink alcohol. 2025 marks the year of the snake and individuals born in 2006 will now be considered adults.
So with this in mind, here is the list of idols who will officially become adults in 2025.
TWS's Hanjin
TWS's Jihoon
BOYNEXTDOOR's Woonhak
