The group fromis_9 will leave HYBE as all members conclude their contracts, delivering a special single, ‘from’, as a final gift to their fans.
‘from’ is a fan song expressing gratitude to FLOVER (the fandom name) for their support and love. Song Hayoung participated in composing the track, and all the members collaborated to complete the lyrics together.
Ahead of the release, fromis_9 shared their thoughts on the 23rd through their agency, Pledis Entertainment. They stated, “We poured our hearts into writing this song like a letter to FLOVER. We hope our sincerity comes through and warms a corner of your heart this cold winter. We wish for this song to become a part of your future days, allowing us to smile and reminisce together no matter where you are.”
The special single 'from' by the group fromis_9 will be released today (the 23rd) at 6 PM on various music streaming platforms.
Since their debut in January 2018, fromis_9 has showcased a variety of music, including ‘Talk & Talk’, ‘DM’, ‘Stay This Way’, ‘#menow’, and ‘Supersonic’. Notably, their August release, ‘Supersonic’, received widespread acclaim, charting domestically and internationally. It was also recognized as one of the “Best K-pop Songs of 2024” by outlets such as Billboard, PopMatters, the UK’s NME, and Dazed. They will close the year with a performance at MBC’s ‘Gayo Daejejeon’ on December 31st.
Meanwhile, fromis_9 transferred to Pledis under HYBE Labels in August 2021. Following discussions, all members decided to end their exclusive contracts with Pledis as of December 31st, 2024.
