BLACKPINK's Rosé shared that she once suffered from shingles due to severe stress.
On December 5, Rosé appeared on Daesung's YouTube channel 'Zip Daesung' and opened up about her experience with depression.
She confessed, "I don’t have hobbies outside of work." She shared, "I only feel a sense of accomplishment through work, and when I take a break, I don't feel like doing anything."
She continued, "I’m a workaholic, so I keep working non-stop. The problem is, while it hasn't reached the point of burnout yet, as I keep going, my brain starts to feel like it’s shutting down. I began to worry that if I kept heading in the wrong direction, I might not even be able to continue the work I love."
Rosé reflected on her need for balance, saying, "I need to be cautious. At the end of the day, the only one who can take responsibility for me is myself. I once took a full day off, and the sunset was so beautiful. I even went to a famous pasta restaurant. It was the first time in my life that I felt such emotions."
She also described how her life has changed since taking time to rest. She explained, "Before, I had so much to do that I built a wall around myself, keeping everyone out. If that wall fell, I thought I wouldn’t be able to do anything. But after taking a break, I gained the ability to take care of things I had neglected before."
Rosé revealed that she had suffered from shingles due to extreme stress. She confessed, "This is the first time I’m talking about it, but I once had shingles." She elaborated, "I was so stressed, thinking, 'What if no one cares about BLACKPINK anymore? What will I do with my life then?' I felt like I might become someone who loses their job at this young age."
She also admitted to experiencing depression. She confessed, "I had depression just once. I think it's something anyone can experience, like catching a cold."
