Former Momoland member JooE has opened up a nail shop and YouTube channel.
On December 21, a video titled "JooE's YouTube is open. Why did I start a nail salon after being an idol?!?!" was uploaded to her newly formed YouTube channel '주이 JooE (JooE JooE).'
In the video, JooE talked about what happened during her 2-year hiatus as an idol. She said, "After my contract ended last year, I spent some time on my own and participated in Mnet's 'Queendom Puzzle.' During that time, I met my current company and ended up opening a nail shop." She also shared her plans to host a talk show with a nail salon theme for her YouTube channel.
She added, "I thought a lot about what I could do. I exercised a lot because that’s something I always do. When I’m actively promoting, I lose a lot of weight. But when I’m not, it’s completely different. The gap is huge, around 8 to 9 kilograms (when I'm promoting versus when I'm not)."
When asked if she choreographed the dance for her past popular Tropicana commercial, JooE explained, "The idea was to bring out my energy, and I was given a rough idea/draft. After that, we created the dance based on different fruits."
JooE also revealed how tough the Tropicana shoot was. "It was really hard. We shot for 6 hours straight without resting. I had 4 or 6 outfits, and I kept drinking, changing clothes, and dancing. By the end, I vomited. But still, it was such a fun experience." As for her payment for the ad, she said, "Looking back, it wasn’t a lot since it was my first commercial. But I’m happy because it led to other opportunities."
When the staff called her an "entertainment queen," JooE laughed and clarified, "That’s a made-up image based on what people see on stage."
It was also revealed in the preview video that JooE's YouTube channel will feature guests like Nancy, WJSN’s Dayoung, and H1-KEY’s Hwiseo in future episodes.
