Actor Yoo Teo is mourning the loss of his father, who passed away today (December 18).

Yoo's agency, beatnik Entertainment, confirmed the news to Newsen on December 18, stating, "Yoo Teo's father, who had been battling a long-term illness, passed away today. Yoo Teo and his wife, Nikki S. Lee, are scheduled to depart for Germany tomorrow."

Regarding his attendance at the '2024 MBC Entertainment Awards,' the agency added, "Due to the bereavement, Yoo Teo will not be able to attend."

Yoo Teo has previously showcased his deep affection for his family. He attended the 'Berlin International Film Festival' with his father and mother during the promotion of the film 'Leto'. 

On an episode of MBC's 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' (aired in March last year), Yoo shared, "Since I was born and raised in Germany, I wanted to share that experience with my parents, so I attended the festival with them."

Most recently, Yoo Teo appeared in the MBC variety show 'Music Adventure By Accident', which concluded in October.
