NewJeans becomes first K-pop girl group on ‘Countdown Japan 24/25’ stage.
On November 6 KST, NewJeans was announced by their agency ADOR to join the lineup for ‘Countdown Japan 24/25’. The festival, held December 28-31 at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe, will feature NewJeans on the largest stage on December 31, set to energize the event on its final day.
Since 2003, ‘Countdown Japan’ has become Japan’s largest year-end indoor festival, attracting over 130,000 attendees last year. Known for hosting Japan’s top artists annually, this year’s lineup also includes Creepy Nuts, Vaundy, MAN WITH A MISSION, and SixTONES. NewJeans joins the prestigious event following their performance at Summer Sonic last August, further cementing their strong popularity and influence in Japan.
This year, NewJeans officially debuted in Japan with remarkable success. Their debut single ‘Supernatural’ released in June became a million-seller, with its title track topping local music charts upon release.
Additionally, NewJeans set a milestone as the fastest foreign artist group to perform at Tokyo Dome in just one year and 11 months. Their fan meeting ‘Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome’ on June 26-27 sold out all tickets, drawing over 91,200 attendees. This Tokyo Dome performance garnered extensive enthusiasm from local fans and further fueled the ongoing NewJeans sensation in Japan.
