HYBE Labels artists including NewJeans, TOMORROW x TOGETHER, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT were among the winners at the '66th Japan Record Awards', one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious ceremonies.
First, NewJeans took home the 'Excellence Award' for their Japan double single, "Supernatural", the only foreign artist to win 1 of 10 'Excellence Awards' this year. All 10 songs selected for the 'Excellence Award' are automatically nominated for the 'Grand Prize', which will be announced during the ceremony's live broadcast on December 30.
Next, TOMORROW x TOGETHER took home the 'Special Award', becoming the second ever K-Pop boy group after Big Bang to win the prize. Fellow HYBE Labels artist LE SSERAFIM claimed the 'International Record Award', while ILLIT were chosen as this year's 'Rookie Artist', even before their official debut in Japan.
The official ceremony for the '66th Japan Record Awards' will be held live on December 30 and broadcast via TBS.
