The background of how actress Han So Hee’s real age was discovered was due to property registration records.
On October 31, Han So Hee’s agency, 9ato Entertainment, confirmed to Newsen that Han So Hee was born in 1993, explaining the family circumstances that led to her using 1994 as the birth year.
The agency stated, “When she was about to enter fourth grade, her mother’s legal issues forced her to relocate to Ulsan. She spent a year at home without attending school, and after her mother was imprisoned, she returned to Wonju and re-enrolled in fourth grade.” They revealed this story of Han So Hee being held back a grade due to her mother’s fraud charges.
The recent discussion surrounding Han So Hee’s age reportedly was uncovered from her property registration records. In August, it was revealed that Han So Hee had purchased a luxury penthouse in Arcadia Signature, Achun-dong, Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, for 5.24 billion KRW (approx. 3.9 million USD). The penthouse, where she became neighbors with stars such as Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin, Oh Yeon Seo, and soccer player Kim Min Jae, attracted public attention after a netizen obtained Han So Hee’s real estate registration certificate.
Property registration certificates are public records accessible to anyone, even if they aren’t the homeowner. They can be easily accessed and issued online, and the homeowner cannot see who has accessed the document.
Meanwhile, Han So Hee’s mother was recently convicted and imprisoned for operating an illegal gambling ring. Han So Hee’s agency responded at the time, saying, “The matters involving Han So Hee’s mother are solely her mother’s personal business. Han So Hee herself learned of this from the news, and she is devastated. We want to clarify that this incident is entirely unrelated to the actress, as it was her mother’s independent action.
