Famous K-pop idols are stepping up as special directors for JTBC's 'Project 7.'
'Project 7,' which premieres on JTBC on October 18 at 8:50 PM, is a new-concept idol audition program. Unlike traditional formats where viewers only participate through voting, this show introduces a “build and strengthen” concept. From the very first vote, viewers directly select participants in each round, forming new teams and helping their favorite contestants grow throughout the process.
In the first project, which will be revealed during the premiere, stars such as (G)I-DLE's Miyeon, MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, AB6IX's Lee Daehwi, INFINITE's Nam Woohyun, PENTAGON's Hui, N.Flying's Yoo Hweseung, and singer-songwriter Shin Yoomi will appear as special directors. Alongside 'Project 7'’s regular directors—Ryan Jhun, Ha Sungwoon, Lee Haein, Ryudi, and Bada—these special directors will judge and select raw talents from the 200 participants, marking the beginning of the "assembly" process in this unprecedented large-scale survival idol audition.
Especially noteworthy are (G)I-DLE's Miyeon, MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, AB6IX's Lee Daehwi, INFINITE's Nam Woohyun, PENTAGON's Hui, N.Flying's Yoo Hweseung, and singer-songwriter Shin Yoomi, who will serve as special directors. As influential senior K-pop idols, they will not only draw from their extensive practical experience across various activities but also use their exceptional skills and insights to evaluate the contestants.
From their positions as special directors, these K-pop veterans will provide a range of feedback, from sharp, no-nonsense critiques to warm, encouraging advice. Through realistic mentoring, they will offer participants both support and guidance. Viewers are eager to see how these renowned special directors will assess the contestants and what role they will play in the competition.
The production team stated, "With legendary K-pop idols from Korea taking on the role of special directors, the show will offer a more dynamic and exciting experience. Please look forward to the premiere of 'Project 7' on the 18th."
Meanwhile, JTBC's 'Project 7,' the first-ever new-concept idol assembly and growth audition program in Korea, will air its first and second episodes back-to-back on October 18 at 8:50 PM.
Fans will be able to participate in selecting and developing contestants.
