Go Young Wook reminisces about past with G-Dragon, sparking mixed reactions.

Former Roo’ra member Go Young Wook took to social media on October 7th KST to recall his heyday, sharing memories of his connection with BIGBANG’s G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong).

Go Young Wook shared, “Most of the photos of me online are awkward or uncomfortable, but I also have a few ‘dandy’ photos from a time when I stood shoulder to shoulder with the top Dandy Boys and Dandy Girls of the day,” revealing two photos. He added, “By the way, my personal fan club name during Roo’ra days was ‘Dandy Go.’

In one of the photos, Go Young Wook posed with actress Kim Min Hee, and in another, he was seen with a young child believed to be G-Dragon. Go Young Wook also shared an old video of G-Dragon performing as part of the “Little Roo’ra” group. He commented, “It was an honor for my family when Kwon Ji Yong, at seven years old, played my role, imitating me and introducing me. It feels like this life wasn’t entirely wasted.

When a netizen commented on the cuteness of the “Little Roo’ra” video, Go Young Wook responded, “Ji Yong was seven at the time, and I remember how shy he was offstage but full of energy and charisma once he stepped on stage. Thinking back now, it’s truly an honor.

However, public opinion on Go Young Wook’s social media activities remains divided. While some believe he should be free to use social media, many argue that posting old photos involving other celebrities, especially without their consent, is inappropriate. There are concerns that the individuals in the photos may not appreciate being brought into the spotlight.

This controversy comes after Go Young Wook expressed disappointment with broadcaster Shin Dong Yup on SBS’s ‘Animal Farm.

Go Young Wook’s actions continue to draw scrutiny due to his criminal record. He was convicted of sexually assaulting and molesting three minors between July 2010 and December 2012 at his Seoul residence and in his car. In December 2013, the Supreme Court sentenced him to two years and six months in prison, along with an order to disclose his personal information for five years and wear an electronic monitoring anklet for three years.

Go Young Wook was released from prison in July 2015. Recently, he attempted to reconnect with fans by launching a YouTube channel, but following public backlash against his presence as a YouTuber due to his past convictions, YouTube ultimately shut down his channel.
