After a seven-year wait, G-Dragon has returned with his new solo pre-release track, "POWER," bringing excitement to his beloved fans.
"POWER" made an immediate impact as soon as it was released, smashing records on Melon Music, Korea's largest music streaming platform. Within the first hour, over 83,000 listeners tuned in, the highest first-hour listener count in 2024. He beat out Rose's first-hour listener count of 76,308.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon had already heightened the anticipation for his first solo track release in seven years since the release of 'Kwon Ji Yong' in 2017. G-Dragon released an extensive preview of the track "POWER" on the latest episode of 'You Quiz on the Block' and explained the message encompassed in the song.
G-Dragon explained that the track "POWER" is about the power each person has individually and shared, "The power I have is music. When looking at things from the third-person perspective during my seven years of hiatus, I realized the media has a lot of power these days. So I wanted to express that in a satire of some sort."
