Comedian Lee Jin Ho recently confessed to illegal gambling and the resulting debts, revealing that BTS's Jimin suffered a financial loss of 100 million won (approximately $74,000 USD) as a result.
On the afternoon of the 14th, BTS Jimin's agency, BigHit Music, confirmed to MK Sport, “It is true that Jimin suffered financial damage. A loan agreement was made, and the money was lent.”
On the same day, Lee Jin Ho admitted that he had been involved in illegal online gambling since 2020, accumulating debts that became too overwhelming to handle. He revealed that he had received financial help from several people.
Lee stated, “I have been consistently repaying the debt every month, and I plan to repay all of it on my own, even if it takes until my death.” He added, “I promise to repay the remaining debts no matter what. I deeply apologize to those who are disappointed in me for causing social controversy and trying to cover it up. I will sincerely cooperate with the police investigation and take responsibility for my wrongdoings.”
Following Lee Jin Ho's confession, Ten Asia reported that in 2022, he borrowed 100 million won (approximately $74,000 USD) from Jimin, citing an urgent need for cash. This revelation brought Jimin's financial loss to light.
In addition to Jimin, it has also been reported that other celebrities, including Young Tak, Lee Soo Geun, and Ha Sung Woon, suffered financial losses due to Lee Jin Ho, further escalating the controversy.
