On the 13th, Sports Seoul reported that the second season of the Wavve original series Bitch x Rich has been confirmed, and casting is currently underway. Most of the actors from season one, including Red Velvet's Yeri (Kim Yerim), Lee Jonghyuk, and Lee Eunsaem, are reportedly considering returning.
The first season of Bitch x Rich revolves around Kim Hyein (played by Lee Eunsaem), a "dirt spoon" student who transfers to the prestigious Cheongdam International High School after becoming the sole witness to a murder case. There, she encounters Baek Jena (played by Yeri), the powerful queen of the school's top clique, Diamond 6, leading to a tense power struggle and psychological warfare.
Season 1 achieved great success, ranking 2nd on Netflix’s weekly TV drama charts and airing in 19 countries, including Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the U.S., Canada, Spain, and the U.K. It also topped charts on platforms like ABEMA TV, Viu, and iQIYI.
Lee Jonghyuk, who played Seo Doeon, the son of the school's director and a key figure in the school's power structure, is also considering returning. His nuanced portrayal of Seo Doeon’s complex transformation from a fragile character to a more resolute figure earned praise.
Red Velvet's Yeri is also in talks to return. She gained attention for her portrayal of Baek Jena, a confident and formidable character, showcasing her acting with bold fashion choices and powerful dialogue delivery. Her performance deeply conveyed Baek Jena's complex emotional landscape, adding depth to the story.
Lee Eunsaem, who captivated viewers by vividly portraying the harsh realities of school life through the character of Hyein, is also considering returning for season 2.
