Model and actor Lee Soo Hyuk shared his thoughts on his role in 'Queen Woo'.
On the afternoon of the 10th, the 57th episode of 'Salon Drip 2', titled "He’s a prince, and he does everything he's told", was uploaded to the YouTube channel TEO. Lee Soo Hyuk appeared as a guest on the show.
In the TVING original series 'Queen Woo', Lee Soo Hyuk plays Go Bal Gi, the third candidate in line for the Goguryeo throne. When asked about his efforts to portray the character, Lee replied, "This is the first time I’ve worn a beard for a role. I also did a lot of tanning and watched many historical dramas to prepare."
Regarding his previous experiences in historical dramas, Lee revealed, "In most cases, I played characters that could fly, and the oldest character I played was about 960 years old." Comedian Jang Do Yeon, who was also on the show, remarked, "You seem to stand out in that regard, playing vampires, grim reapers, zombies, and other non-human roles."
Lee Soo Hyuk further reflected, "I used to worry a lot about those roles. I often wondered, 'Why can’t I play a normal role?' or 'Why can't I play a role that matches my age group?' I even worked out a lot because of those concerns."
When asked about what he considers a normal role, he replied, "A character who seems like someone you might encounter in everyday life." He added, "I’ve been getting more of those roles recently. In an unreleased project, I played a detective, and before that, I played a job seeker. I feel like those roles reflect a lot of my true self."
