HyunA and Junhyung warn of legal action against spreading false rumors.
On September 4 KST, HyunA’s agency, AT AREA, released an official statement addressing the ongoing issue of false rumors and personal attacks aimed at the artist, especially following the announcement of her upcoming marriage to Yong Junhyung.
In the statement, the agency expressed that they had previously prepared to take legal action against the persistent defamation and malicious distortions directed at HyunA. However, they had refrained from doing so out of respect for the artist’s request for leniency.
The statement continued, “After the wedding announcement, we have observed an uncontrollable surge in defamatory statements that are severely damaging her reputation. In particular, following the release of the wedding photos, the spread of completely unfounded rumors has escalated, prompting us to take a firm stance.”
The agency emphasized, “To protect the artist’s dignity, we will take strict legal action against any further malicious rumors, without any prior warnings, leniency, or settlements.”
HyunA is set to marry fellow singer Yong Junhyung in October. Following the public announcement of their relationship and the swift wedding news, HyunA has been the target of various harmful rumors, including speculation about a premarital pregnancy, which has caused significant distress.
AT AREA’s Official Statement:
Hello, this is AT AREA.
We have continuously prepared to file legal complaints against the unending personal attacks, false information, and malicious distortions directed at our artist, HyunA. However, we have held back at the artist’s request for leniency.
However, following the announcement of her marriage, we have witnessed an uncontrollable amount of defamation, which has forced us to take action. Particularly after the release of her wedding photos, the spread of baseless rumors has intensified, leading us to decide on a firm response.
To protect the minimum dignity of the artist, we stress that any further malicious rumors will be met with strict legal action, without warnings, leniency, or settlements.
