Singer G-Dragon's popularity and star power remain strong.
G-Dragon donated several fashion items, art pieces, design objects, and memorabilia to the "Nothing But a 'G' Thang: The Art and Archive of G-Dragon" auction held from September 2 to 10 through "Joopiter," a digital auction platform founded by pop star and Louis Vuitton Men's Creative Director Pharrell Williams.
The highest bid was for a multi-colored fur coat by fashion brand 'SAGA FURS'. G-Dragon wore it to '2014 MAMA' and during the 2015 Big Bang tour. The bidding price, initially set at $12,000 (approximately 16 million won) on the 9th, just a day before the auction's close, skyrocketed to $81,000 (around 110 million won) within a span of 10 minutes. Ultimately, the item sold for a staggering $125,000 (about 167 million won) as the final price.
G-Dragon's 'Daisy Lapel pin' was also auctioned for $112,500 (about 166 million won) and the Peaceminusone Nike Paranoise F&F version was auctioned for $95,000 (about 127 million won).
The director's chair with G-Dragon's real name, 'Kwon Ji Yong', engraved on it was auctioned for $51,250 (approximately 69 million won), and the luxury belt with the phrase 'Kim Chaos Lover GD!' engraved on it by G-Dragon himself was auctioned for $31,250 (approximately 42 million won). Also, the green hip sack that he collaborated with Pharrell Williams was auctioned for $18,750 (approximately 25 million won).
In addition, the paintings that G-Dragon drew received final prices of $52,500 (approximately 70 million won), $43,750 (approximately 58 million won), and $43,750 (approximately 58 million won), respectively.
All the proceeds do not go to G-Dragon as it is a charity auction and will be donated, it is known that the total auction price of the collection that G-Dragon put up for sale amounts to $1.2 million (1.6 billion won) and a new record high set for Joopiter auctions.
