It wasn’t just Jin’s striking appearance that earned him the title of “Worldwide Handsome,” his genuine personality has solidified him as the true “Worldwide Handsome Guy.”
Jin made his first appearance on national TV since his military discharge on the variety show 'Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island.' After the recording, it was revealed that Jin discreetly paid for the staff's post-filming dinner. Show director Kim Myung Jin shared in an interview that despite Jin’s busy schedule, he willingly attended the gathering and secretly covered the bill.
Kim PD praised Jin for his dedication, noting that despite only getting a few hours of sleep due to his hectic schedule with advertisements and various broadcast appearances, Jin performed exceptionally well without showing any signs of fatigue. He added that Jin’s genuine personality shone through during filming, especially in the unpredictable setting of the show, which takes place on a deserted island. Even when heavy rain fell during the shoot, Jin didn’t hesitate to continue working, showcasing his commitment and reliability.
In the upcoming episode, fans can look forward to seeing Jin’s impressive cooking skills and witnessing his innate “workman DNA” in action.
Many were surprised by Jin’s participation in the show, but according to Producer Kim, Jin himself had reached out to express his interest. Jin’s close relationship with Chef Lee Yeon Bok, who is also on the show, likely played a part in this decision. This opportunity also gave Jin a platform to reconnect with fans and viewers after his military discharge.
Producer Kim highlighted that Jin had previously appeared on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' with Chef Lee Yeon Bok and footballer Ahn Jung Hwan, which created a friendly atmosphere on set. Jin’s chemistry with the cast, including close friend Sandeul, made the filming experience even more enjoyable.
While Jin’s schedule remains packed, Producer Kim expressed that if Jin wanted to return to the show after seeing the broadcast, the production team would be more than happy to have him back.
There are high hopes for the episode’s ratings. Producer Kim remarked that the episode has already garnered significant attention, with numerous comments from international viewers on the teaser videos. He noted seeing comments in languages like Spanish and Russian and even found himself translating them for the first time, which sparked discussions about potentially giving the program an official English title.
