BTS’s J-Hope, who is currently serving in the military, shared a heartfelt message for Chuseok.
On September 17 KST, J-Hope took to the fan communication platform Weverse to express his thoughts, saying, “One month, exactly 30 days! Time felt so slow, but now I’ve grown attached to it. As I clean up, giving my well-used items to my juniors and seeing my emptied locker, I feel more sentimental.”
Reflecting on his time in the military, he added, “Looking back, it wasn’t a big deal, but back then, I was so tense. Even the sound of the locker opening would get on my nerves. Seeing the new recruits now, I feel a connection with them and find myself smiling at how I used to be.” He continued, “I’m proud of my time here! I feel good about it!”
J-Hope humorously noted that he is now “a seasoned soldier,” relaxing on his bed while writing the message. He expressed how much he enjoyed the holiday break, even joking about how he decided to write because “today just happens to be exactly 30 days until my discharge.”
Concluding his message, J-Hope said, “I hope the peace in everyone’s homes continues, and my heart is fluttering like a dove with happiness during this Chuseok. Though it’s a bit of a warm Chuseok, I wish you all a prosperous holiday.” He signed off by saying, “I hope autumn comes soon. I’ll see you next month. Until then, please take care and stay healthy.”
J-Hope enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April last year and is currently serving as an instructor at a recruit training center. He is scheduled to be discharged on October 17 KST.
