Korean netizens were surprised to see BTS member Jungkook seemingly voicing his support for girl group NewJeans.
On September 14 KST, a new post was shared on Jungkook's Instagram account dedicated to his dog, Bam. Along with a handsome photo of Bam, Jungkook added five heart emojis, a flexed bicep emoji, and the words, "Artists are not guilty."
Many interpreted that the five heart emojis symbolized the members of NewJeans, while the flexed bicep emoji sent a "Fighting!" message to the girls.
Netizens reacted with comments like,
"The only real man at HYBE."
"He's so real for this."
"Exactly. People need to wake up and realize what they're doing to those young, defenseless girls."
"I really wish I could see Bang Si Hyuk's face."
"I'm sure it wasn't easy for him to post this. Respect."
"It takes so much courage to go against the big brass."
"Honestly, everything that HYBE artists are going through right now, BTS suffered from it too TTTT."
"People need to speak up when something is wrong. He's the first one to do it."
"Do those adults have no shame? Treating young people like tools in their money games."
"Nice one, Jungkook."
"I bet Bang Si Hyuk is fuming right now lol."
"Please get Jungkook and NewJeans out of there away from those ungrateful pigs."
