On August 20 KST, Wake One Entertainment issued an official statement to relay a strict warning against activities infringing on the rights of boy group ZEROBASEONE, both in Korea and overseas.
The agency stated on this day:
"Hello, this is WAKEONE.
We notify you an update on agency's course of legal action against the infringement of our artists' rights.
Should WAKEONE discover any illegally published materials involving our agency's artists, we intend on pursuing all matters of legal action possible both in Korea and overseas to ensure that those responsible will face legal repercussions.
Since the beginning of this year, WAKEONE has partnered up with the domestic law firm Sejong as well as legal experts in the United States to closely monitor illegal activity on YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook, and various online communities, and through close monitoring, we have obtained a significant amount of evidence needed to pursue legal action.
Furthermore, we have filed criminal reports against individuals who threatened the privacy and personal lives of our artists through the following means: obtaining private information through illegal means, attempting to contact the artists privately, and/or trespassing on the artists' property. Some of these individuals have already been sentenced legal punishment for their actions.
In order to continue protecting the honor, rights, and privacy of our artists, WAKEONE is consistently monitoring activities online. No matter how much time it takes, we will make every effort to eradicate illegal acts committed against our artists. There will be no settlements or leniency.
Lastly, we thank fans of our artists for your abundant support and love, and promise to do our best for the protection of the artists' rights.
Thank you."
Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE will make a comeback on August 26 at 6 PM KST with the release of their 4th mini album, 'Cinema Paradise'.
