American singer and songwriter Tori Kelly shared excitement about her first Korean concert and revealed she wants to collaborate with BLACKPINK’s Rosé.
On August 27, Tori Kelly held her debut Korean concert, “Tori Kelly Live in Seoul,” at Myung Hwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, as part of her world tour “PURPLE SKIES” Asian leg. Originally scheduled for April 2020, her first Korean concert was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this her first performance in Korea, where she met her local fans this year.
When asked about her focus during the tour preparation and the message she wanted to convey to the audience, she said, “My main hope is that people have a great time. Life can be tough, but I hope those who come to the concert have a wonderful experience and feel loved.”
In a recent interview, Tori Kelly expressed her desire to introduce herself as a “pop R&B soul artist who writes and produces music” to those unfamiliar with her work. She credited her fans as the driving force behind her continued music career.
Kelly’s music has gained a solid following in Korea, and many K-pop artists have publicly shown their admiration for her. BTS’s Jungkook and Aespa’s Winter have covered her songs, while RIIZE and Anton have expressed interest in collaborating with her. Recently, Le Sserafim’s Kim Chaewon was featured on Kelly’s track “Spruce.”
When asked about future K-pop collaborations, Kelly expressed her admiration for BLACKPINK’s Rosé, saying, "I really like Rosé from BLACKPINK, she is a great artist, I also love K-pop music, it is very fun and perfect for dancing”.
