Stray Kids made their comeback on July 19 KST with the release of their mini-album 'ATE' and the title track 'Chk Chk Boom.' Following the worldwide popularity of the album, the group unveiled the 'JJAM' music video teaser on their official social media channels on the afternoon of August 5 KST, hinting at an intriguing narrative.
In the teaser, the eight members of Stray Kids are seen engaging in secretive activities in a darkened room. With their faces smeared with red jam, they move confidently but are soon startled by an unknown presence, becoming increasingly tense. The video ends as they flee in fear, startled by the sound of shattering glass. The eerie use of jam, the members' acting, and the dim lighting evoke the suspense of a horror movie trailer, heightening curiosity about the full music video.'JJAM,' the third track on the new album, stands out with its dynamic composition and strong synth sounds, fully capturing Stray Kids' signature playful and unique charm.
The track was written and composed by Bang Chan and Changbin from the group's producing team 3RACHA, reflecting Stray Kids' distinctive musical style. On August 3, the song debuted at number 9 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart.The mini-album 'ATE' is a well-crafted record that reflects Stray Kids' bold ambition to dominate the global music market. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 main chart on August 3, making Stray Kids the first group to achieve five consecutive number-one debuts on the chart, starting with their March 2022 mini-album 'ODDINARY.' On August 2 KST, Stray Kids performed as headliners at the major music festival 'Lollapalooza Chicago,' closing the event with a stellar performance. The group is also set to kick off their new world tour 'Stray Kids World Tour' with four concerts at the KSPO Dome in Seoul's Olympic Park on August 24-25 KST and August 31-September 1 KST, marking their largest-scale solo concert to date.
