The agency representing the girl band QWER has responded to the recent uproar surrounding the ‘paint issue’ that garnered significant attention online.
On August 28, Tamago Production (Prism Filter, 3Y Corporation), expressing their gratitude for the interest in QWER’s comeback. The agency stated, “We appreciate the considerable interest in QWER’s comeback. During the content creation process for album promotion, an unforeseen issue arose. We apologize for not being able to provide a prompt explanation. Moving forward, we will take extra care to prevent any misunderstandings during our promotions. We ask for your continued support as we strive to deliver better music and content.”
The controversy began on August 24, when images of QWER members splattered with red paint surfaced online, causing a stir in various online communities. The images led to an outcry, with some interpreting it as an attack on the band, while others speculated that it might be part of a promotional strategy ahead of their comeback. The agency has now clarified that it was indeed part of a promotional campaign.
QWER is a four-member girl band consisting of Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon, all of whom are well-known creators. The band was formed through a collaboration between popular YouTuber Kim Gyeran and production companies Tamago Production (a joint venture between 3Y Corporation and Prism Filter). QWER is preparing for a comeback scheduled for September.
