OMEGA X' Hwichan has been sent to prosecution on sexual assault charges against his former label CEO.
According to legal insiders on August 2, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station forwarded Hwichan's case to the Seoul Estern District Prosecutors' Office on the charges of a "forced indecent act" against former Spire Entertainment CEO Kang. This past March, Spire Entertainment claimed Hwichan had forced himself on CEO Kang, who was trying to comfort him about his upcoming military enlistment.
Spire Entertainment further claimed Hwichan had drunkenly touched CEO Kang's chest, releasing CCTV footage of the incident. The label sated, "We hesitated to file a criminal complaint because we did not want to make a young member into a sex offender, but we had to respond when the OMEGA X members countered by accusing Kang of forced indecent acts." Meanwhile, OMEGA X' legal representatives argued the act was caused by coercion by former CEO Kang.
