NewJeans' Hanni and Nam Ji Hyun to host the inaugural Korea Grand Music Awards

Hanni from the girl group NewJeans and actress Nam Ji Hyun will team up as MCs for an upcoming music awards show.

On August 28, the Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) organizing committee announced that Hanni and Nam Ji Hyun will host the first-ever KGMA, set to take place on November 16 at the Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.

The KGMA organizing committee stated, “As we launch a new era with this music awards show, we wanted to select two artists who symbolize the new wave of K-pop and its fandom to host the first day of the event.” The committee also mentioned that the female MCs for the second day of the awards (November 17) will be announced soon.

The first lineup of artists participating in this year’s KGMA has also been revealed, including NewJeans, NiziU, aespa, ATEEZ, ZEROBASEONE, and Taemin.

The KGMA aims to recognize and celebrate K-pop, trot, band, solo, and various other genres of popular music that have achieved significant success over the past year.
