Actress Jeon Do Yeon discussed her relationship with Yoo Jae Suk on 'Pinggyego.'
Actress Jeon Do Yeon recently appeared on the show 'Pinggyego.' Yoo Jae Suk, who attended the same university as her, greeted her enthusiastically, but Jeon Do Yeon did not reciprocate as warmly. She explained that their relationship wasn't particularly close, which made her feel "uncomfortable." However, Yoo Jae Suk's one-sided attempt at being "best friends" added another layer of humor for the viewers. As of the morning of August 6 KST, the video had garnered over 3.48 million views, reflecting its popularity.
In a subsequent interview, Jeon Do Yeon candidly talked about her relationship with Yoo Jae Suk.
Jeon Do Yeon, who stars in the upcoming film 'Revolver' (directed by Oh Seung Wook), shared her thoughts on the movie's release during a press interview held in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on August 5 KST. The interview also touched on her recent joint appearance with Lim Ji Yeon on Yoo Jae Suk's YouTube show 'Pinggyego.'
Comparing 'Pinggyego' with Jung Jae Hyung's YouTube show 'Yojong Jae-hyung,' Jeon Do Yeon remarked, "'Yojong Jae-hyung' was filmed comfortably, but 'Pinggyego' was extremely uncomfortable. Some say it was just a concept, but I really felt uneasy. I'm not good at reacting, and it wasn’t comfortable watching Yoo Jae Suk put in so much effort. On the other hand, I felt more at ease filming 'Yojong Jae-hyung.'"
She added, "How long do I have to explain my relationship with Yoo Jae Suk? We've never had a personal conversation. We were just university classmates, and while Yoo Jae Suk became the top in his field, I also made it as an actress. The fact that we met is just that—a fact."
However, some viewers have criticized Jeon Do Yeon’s candid comments, arguing over her attitude in a variety show setting. The comments on the 'Pinggyego' video reflect a divide, with some seeing her honesty as refreshing and others perceiving it as rude.
On one hand, viewers praised the natural chemistry between Jeon Do Yeon and Yoo Jae Suk, with comments like, "After watching this, I get why they haven’t become close—because they’re so different, but it’s funny," and "She seems much more comfortable than when she was on 'You Quiz' last time. I think it’s entertaining to see their honest interactions; it doesn’t seem rude at all." Others appreciated Jeon Do Yeon’s straightforwardness, stating, "It’s much more entertaining to see someone like Jeon Do Yeon, who isn’t afraid to point out things when Yoo Jae Suk sticks to typical, polite conversations."
On the other hand, some viewers were put off by her attitude, commenting, "Jeon Do Yeon was just being rude, not just uncomfortable," and "She’s not suited for variety shows."
