Girls' Generation member Sooyoung recently shared her dieting struggles on her YouTube channel, "the sootory" in a video titled "The Battle with 2kg | Mula Wear Shoot | Ballet."
In the video released on August 26 KST, Sooyoung revealed her challenges with losing weight for an upcoming photoshoot. "I've been working out really hard for the past couple of months because I wanted to lose 2kg. I failed. It seems like I maintained my weight because I gained muscle mass, but I don’t rely on the scale; I go by how I look in the mirror. I think I failed in that regard," she confessed.
Sooyoung also shared her dietary efforts, saying, "I carry bell peppers with me and try to reduce my carb intake as much as possible. These bell peppers were brought by Yuri from a bell pepper farm. She left them at my door, saying they were fresh and delicious." She added with a smile, "Yuri went around to all the members' homes, leaving bell peppers, so we nicknamed her 'Kiki the Delivery Witch,' but I corrected it to 'Beauty Delivery Witch.' Thanks, Yuri, I'll enjoy them!"
She continued to express her love for the healthy snack, saying, "When you eat really delicious bell peppers, you don't even need to dip them in sauce. They're sweet and crunchy on their own. But I still couldn't lose those 2kg."
During a lunch break at a photoshoot, Sooyoung opted for a salad from the catering, admitting, "I went to bed last night after eating a salad, so I'm really hungry." The video caption read, "Another salad, but those who enjoy it are the best." As she ate, Sooyoung humorously commented, "I didn't think about my stomach sticking out while eating. It should be fine, right? I did tighten my abs," before checking her side profile and feeling reassured, "It looks okay, right?"
Sooyoung concluded by expressing her frustration, "Why is losing 2kg so hard? Losing 5kg is not that difficult, but 2kg is really tough. It's not about anything else; it's the body fat percentage that's the issue," she lamented.
