Broadcaster Park Na Rae recently revealed that she is exploring the idea of marriage.
On July 31, Park Na Rae appeared as a guest on Kian84's YouTube channel 'Life84.' Kian84 introduced her, saying, "She's like a colleague and a friend. There have been many times when I wanted to rely on her and many times when she wanted to rely on me. But whenever I wanted to lean on her, she was facing criticism, and whenever she wanted to lean on me, I was getting criticized. We've shared our 30s together, navigating life like walking a tightrope."
The two have maintained a close friendship since meeting on MBC's 'I Live Alone.' Park Na Rae described herself as "Kian84's ex, ex, ex-flirt, like family, and the closest younger sister," and laughed.
During the show, Park Na Rae expressed her increasing interest in marriage and having children. She confessed, "I'm looking into marriage because I want to have a baby." When Kian84 commented, "I don't see the point of getting married if not for having kids," Park Na Rae agreed, saying, "I feel the same way." Kian84 advised, "You need to find a good man. If he doesn't want to get married, you should look for someone else quickly. When you're dating, ask, 'Do you want to date with marriage in mind?' If the answer is no, move on and find someone else. Time is short."
Park Nae Rae will be turning 39-years-old in October.
The two also reminisced about their less-than-ideal first meeting. Before working together on 'I Live Alone,' they had a misunderstanding when Park Na Rae was doing the 'Fashion No.5' segment on KBS2's 'Gag Concert.'
Park Na Rae shared, "You didn't know, but I was a fan of yours since the 'Nobyeong-ga' series. I had gone down to Mokpo and was wondering what to do for a living when some colleagues suggested creating a segment, which became 'Fashion No.5.' It was an homage to 'Fashion King,' but during an interview, it came across as if we had created the concept ourselves."
Kian84 admitted he had posted a negative reaction on social media at the time. He said, "Looking back, I was young. I wondered, 'Haven't I done homages while drawing webtoons?' I was thoughtless." Park Na Rae recalled attending a 'Fashion King'-related party, but Kian84 was too busy to say more than a quick hello. They reunited on 'I Live Alone,' and Park Na Rae reflected, "Before we all became successful, we went through this together, so there's a bond. Now, it feels like a kind of clan meeting with you, me, Hye Jin, Si Eon, Hyun Moo, and Sung Hoon. We're not blood-related, but it's like a TV family."
Park Na Rae also expressed her gratitude for Kian84 attending her grandfather's funeral last year. She said, "He doesn't come when invited but shows up when he's told not to. Some people wondered why I took time off for my grandfather's funeral. But to me, my grandfather was like a father. I'm grateful everyone understood."
Kian84 expressed genuine concern for Park Na Rae, who is constantly busy. He said, "Whenever I turn on the TV at the gym, it's always you and Hyun Moo. It feels like you don't have a personal life. You work hard, but I miss seeing the human side of Park Na Rae."
Despite these concerns, Park Na Rae shared her passion for her work, saying, "I really enjoy working. It's tough because I'm getting older and my stamina isn't what it used to be. Everyone worked hard to set the stage, and I can't stand not doing my best. I need to give it my all."
