During the press tour for Deadpool & Wolverine in Seoul, South Korea, the director Shawn Levy along with starring actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, received traditional Korean hanboks as a gift for their visit to the country.
The hanboks were beautiful looking with the film's signature colors (red and yellow) combined with traditional patterns and particularly caught the audience's attention when the moderator pointed out that its were designed by the same person who made Blackpink's iconic Coachella costumes.
Given this statement, Ryan Reynolds, actor who plays Deadpool, revealed that he loves Blackpink's music.
In 2023, newscasts from various countries began to highlight BLACKPINK's impressive performance as the First K-pop Act to headline Coachella, even being named the "National Treasure of South Korea." They also showed their amazement at the huge number of spectators who were present both in person and virtually (250 million live viewers and a crowd of more than 125 thousand people).
At the time, netizens took to social media to express their utter pride in the group, while loving their use of traditional Korean elements and Hanbok-inspired stage costumes.
