On June 29, Lovelyz made a stunning return as a complete group for the first time in three years, featured in part two of "Our Festival" on MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo.'
The Lovelyz members graced the stage in neat outfits reminiscent of school uniforms. They performed their beloved hits "Hi~," "Destiny," and "Ah-Choo," garnering enthusiastic responses from their fans.
Despite the long hiatus, Lovelyz captivated the audience with their signature lovely vocals and flawless performances. The stage resonated with explosive cheers and sing-alongs from the crowd.
After the performance, the members greeted the audience in unison. Fans, overwhelmed by seeing Lovelyz together again, were moved to tears, and the members also shed emotional tears.
Earlier, in April 2022, Lovelyz leader Lee Su Jeong (Baby Soul) shared the story behind the group's disbandment and her plans for a solo debut on the YouTube channel "Recent Olympics." She revealed, "Lovelyz's last activity was around August 2020. It's been over a year and a half," adding that she spent this period with her family.
Lee Su Jeong reflected on the difficulties she faced early in her career, admitting, "The promotion of our first full album was the hardest time. I was mentally devastated by the shock and hurt from malicious comments."
She clarified that the disbandment was not due to any conflict or discord among the members but rather a difference in the directions each wanted to pursue. "The members had been discussing disbandment for a long time," she added.
During the show, a supportive message from Yoon Sang, known as the "father of Lovelyz's music," was also shared. He encouraged the group, saying, "I hope it will be a wonderful stage where you can showcase the various sides you've kept hidden."
