YG Entertainment has reported that on June 1 at 6:25 AM KST, BLACKPINK’s ‘BOOMBAYAH’ music video officially surpassed 1.7 billion views. The video reached this milestone nearly 8 years after its release in 2016.
With this recent achievement, BLACKPINK has now become the first K-pop group to have three music videos with more than 1.7 billion views, as ‘BOOMBAYAH’ joins their other songs ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ in reaching this milestone.
BLACKPINK also previously broke records in releasing the first and only K-pop debut song to reach one billion views. Cumulatively, their YouTube content has been watched over 35 billion times, and their channel has over 93 million subscribers, which is the highest subscriber count of any musical artist in the world.
With the recent milestone of BLACKPINK’s debut ‘BOOMBAYAH’ reaching 1.7 billion views, the group’s legacy continues to grow even now.
