Group Seventeen has set another milestone with their best album.
According to the album sales aggregation site Hanteo Chart on the 6th, Seventeen's best album '17 IS RIGHT HERE' sold 2,967,937 copies in the week following its release from April 29th to May 5th.
This sets a new record for the highest first-week album sales in K-pop history according to Hanteo Chart.
With this, Seventeen adds a new landmark to the history of Korean popular music, following last year's 11th mini-album 'SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,' which set the record for the highest first-week sales of a K-pop album (5,091,887 copies). '17 IS RIGHT HERE' already entered the double million seller ranks on the day of its release. Considering that the album is a compilation of previously popular hits, this achievement is even more remarkable, reaffirming Seventeen's status as the top group in K-pop.
Its global popularity is also soaring. '17 IS RIGHT HERE' has topped the Oricon Daily Album Rankings in Japan for five consecutive days from April 30th to May 4th, and also claimed the top spot on the Line Music Top Album 100 chart, a major local music site. Additionally, the album debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes Worldwide Album chart upon release and has consistently maintained a high position since then.
The title track of the best album, 'MAESTRO,' climbed to the top ranks on major domestic music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs, and achieved the No. 1 spot on the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 32 countries/regions worldwide, leading the Worldwide Song chart.
New unit songs included in the best album, 'LALALI,' 'Spell,' and 'Cheers to youth,' have also successfully entered the top ranks of charts both domestically and internationally.
SEVENTEEN continues to ride the wave of popularity by releasing the performance version music video of 'MAESTRO' on the Hive Labels YouTube channel and official team SNS at midnight. Their encore tour at Japan's giant stadiums also continues.
SEVENTEEN is scheduled to hold the 'SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN' on May 18-19 at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka and on May 25-26 at the Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa to meet fans.
