According to KBS reports on May 1 KST, the preliminary favorite voting phase for MA1 has drawn to a close, garnering enthusiastic participation from fans around the world and capturing widespread attention.

Fans hailing from a remarkable 81 countries took part in the pre-favorite vote, conducted on the global entertainment platform Makestar application, collectively casting an impressive 516,283 votes. The outpouring of love from fans across continents spanning Asia, the Americas, and Europe underscores the extraordinary interest surrounding the MA1 project.

Anticipation mounts as MA1 gears up to unveil the results of the pre-favorite vote on its official YouTube channel on May 8 KST. Fans eagerly await to discover which member among the thirty-five 'everyday boys' will emerge as the most favored choice.

MA1, a global idol debut project launched by KBS after a hiatus of about six years, is poised to captivate viewers with its mission to 'MAKE the stage of your dreams and become ONE with your friends (MATE).'

But the thing with these type of shows, the hype is high but as soon as a country's representative gets taken out, the interest of that country usually goes away too... like with UNIS, it was so big then, but as soon as the other contestants got cut, it also killed the interest of their homeland.

kpop group with mostly non korean members might not hit it big. With this concept it's so hard to go mainstream.
