In the latest TV-OTT drama topicality survey results for the second week of April unveiled by Good Data Corporation, a prominent K-content online competitiveness analysis agency, notable shifts in drama popularity have emerged.
Leading the pack for the sixth consecutive week is tvN's 'Queen of Tears', solidifying its reign as a topical favorite. Since its premiere, the drama has consistently surpassed its own records, maintaining its stronghold on the top spot for five consecutive weeks.
The survey also shed light on the performers, with Kim Soo Hyun reclaiming the top position after two weeks, sharing the throne three times alongside Kim Ji Won. Supporting actors Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and Kim Kap Soo also garnered attention, securing the 5th, 8th, and 9th spots, respectively.
Meanwhile, the buzz surrounding tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama, 'Lovely Runner', has surpassed expectations. With a topicality score of 42,393 points in its debut week, the series not only outperformed 'Queen of Tears' during its first week but also marked the highest score among TV dramas launched in the past year. Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon of ‘Lovely Runner’ further bolstered the drama's success, ranking 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the performer category.
Other notable mentions include Netflix's 'Parasyte: The Grey', which experienced a 26.8% increase in topicality compared to its debut week, securing the 3rd spot. MBC's 'Wonderful World' also witnessed a surge of 47.5%, setting a new record for the series. Cha Eun Woo and Kim Nam Joo of 'Wonderful World' claimed the 7th and 8th spots in the performer category.
