Amidst the conflicting position between HYBE and Min Hee Jin's ADOR, it has been reported that the parents of NewJeans members were the first to raise concerns about the alleged "NewJeans copying" by ILLIT.
According to an exclusive report by DongA Ilbo on April 24, after ILLIT debuted last month under Belift Lab, a sublabel of HYBE, suspicions were raised that the rookie girl group was copying NewJeans. It was reported that it was NewJeans members' parents who initially brought this issue to ADOR's attention.
The report states that NewJeans parents requested ADOR to resolve the issue through discussions with HYBE. In response, ADOR sent a formal request for corrective action and other documents to HYBE on April 3. In turn, HYBE requested a meeting with the NewJeans members' parents.
However, NewJeans' parents felt that HYBE's response lacked sincerity and declined the meeting.
ADOR's official statement regarding the 'NewJeans copying' allegation by ILLIT, which stated, "Therefore, following thorough discussions with the NewJeans members and legal representatives, ADOR has released its official stance," seems to be related to this situation.
Subsequently, HYBE initiated an audit against ADOR on April 22. It has been reported that HYBE had obtained evidence of Min Hee Jin's attempt to take over ADOR, with related documents being disclosed.

Someone should explain to them that Min Hee Jin did not create the Y2K sound, and that she does not have a copyright on teenage girl groups with long black hair, minimal makeup, and age-appropriate clothing.
