On April 24, Dispatch released an exclusive report, revealing more details about ADOR and how Min Hee Jin was able to debut NewJeans.
According to Dispatch, Minji joined Source Music in 2017. Then Hanni entered through Source Music in 2019. They both entered the company by passing the global auditions sponsored by Big Hit and Source Music.
Haerin and Danielle also signed with Source Music as trainees in 2020. The last member, Hyein, was discovered online but passed the audition and signed with Source Music.
This means that Minji, Hanni, Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein were all trainees selected by Source Music's CEO, So Sung Jin. All five members trained at Source Music until the second half of 2021.
Min Hee Jin joined HYBE in 2019. Her role was the chief brand officer, and she helmed the company's rebranding into HYBE (from Big Hit). During that time, HYBE reported that Min Hee Jin would be "overseeing creative direction for multiple labels and leading the launch of a new girl group. Separately, they were planning to establish a new label to expand capabilities in discovering rookies and music production."
Min Hee Jin was hired to prepare a new debut girl group for Source Music. However, she expressed that she wanted to launch the group under her own independent label. This was the start of ADOR.
She chose trainees from Source, including Minji, Hanni, Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein. In return, she reimbursed Source Music for their training costs.
While Min Hee Jin is often referred to as the "Mother of NewJeans" due to her role in producing the group, it was So Sung Jin who selected the girls and dedicated himself to nurturing them for three years.
Of course, no one can dispute Min Hee Jin's efforts in making NewJeans who they are today. Min Hee Jin recreated the Y2K look, interpreting it in a modern way and completing the Korean-style easy listening with top Korean producer 250 (Lee Oh Gong).
That is why Min Hee Jin received compensation for her contributions. HYBE's board of directors allowed Min Hee Jin to purchase ADOR shares at a very low price instead of stock options. As a result, Min Hee Jin holds 18% (573,160 shares) of ADOR and has become the second largest shareholder.
Dispatch pointed out Min Hee Jin's past interview and highlighted, "In an interview last year, Min Hee Jin said 'I received similar investment offers from other places at the time, so there was no reason it had to be with HYBE." However, Dispatch criticized that she had committed a parasitic action by leeching off Source Music, taking their trainees. Dispatch pointed out, "She is the biggest beneficiary of the HYBE system. She utilized the HYBE trainee pool to select the NewJeans members. They were not discovered by Min Hee Jin but chosen from Source Music."
Dispatch concluded, "Min Hee Jin would be able to take credit for NewJeans' success. On the other hand, HYBE would be the one to take the burden of the debt if NewJeans had failed."

The NewJeans need to take a hard look at how things went down for the FiftyFifty members. Regardless of their popularity they’re still in a precarious position being a younger group. If they back the wrong horse this could all go horribly wrong. Regardless of their alleged loyalty to Min Hee Jin, their true start began with HYBE and more specifically, Source Music. Their parents distrust of HYBE makes me believe that Hee Jin has likely been in planting discord in the minds of the parents before this, acting like she is the one and only reason for the groups success. I seriously hope they learn from the mistakes of others and don’t go down that same road…
