Actress Na Moon Hee (83) has been garnering much attention recently after transforming back to her 20s using AI technology.
On April 9, AI entertainment technology company MCA announced that in collaboration with the Korea Racing Authority, they have introduced branded content featuring 'AI Na Moon Hee'.
In the released video titled 'Na Moon Hee's First Love,' both the current and young versions of Na Moon Hee appear simultaneously. The AI version of Na Moon Hee was created based on technologies such as voice and video synthesis by the AI technology company DeepBrainAI.
MCA's branded content, utilizing real famous stars, is expected to create greater synergy than existing virtual characters. This enables small and medium-sized enterprises and startups to use famous stars for marketing at a reasonable cost, which is the most significant feature.
MCA has contracted licenses with star actors at reasonable prices to produce advertisements for medium-sized enterprises and startups. Na Moon Hee has signed a 10-year contract with MCA.
The Na Moon Hee videos can be viewed on the Korean Racing Authority's KRBC YouTube channel, TikTok's 'Na Moon Hee Channel (Moonhee41)', and can also be searched and watched on Naver Clip under 'Miss Moonhee.'
MCA plans to utilize star AI characters in various fields closely related to daily life, including advertising, games, counseling, online lectures, personalized messages, virtual friends, and wake-up calls.
Park Jae Soo, CEO of MCA, said, "This project is a practical example of applying advanced AI human technology, AI voice technology, and generative AI," adding, "We wanted to show that AI technology can widely help the world by creating video content that is needed in reality." He further stated, "We plan to quickly produce and provide familiar videos featuring stars in the future."
I think this is fine as long as the living actor herself agrees and gets paid to use her likeness in AI. This would be beneficial to veteran senior actors who may not have the capacity to get much jobs due to their age. But for able young actors this may not be so good.
