On March 5 KST it was reported that SHINee's Taemin is set to conclude his exclusive contract with his long-time agency, SM Entertainment, by the end of this month.
Having debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008, Taemin has been under the management of SM Entertainment for 16 years, having renewed his contract multiple times over the years.
As Taemin's exclusive contract comes to an end, he is poised to embark on a new chapter in his career as a singer under a different agency. However, it is expected that SHINee will continue to collaborate with SM Entertainment for their group activities.
Since his debut with SHINee, Taemin has left an indelible mark on the K-pop scene with chart-topping hits such as "Replay", "Ring Ding Dong", and "Lucifer". Transitioning into a solo artist in 2014, he continued to captivate audiences with his magnetic presence through songs like "Move", "Want", and "Guilty".
Things are obviously bad at SM when so many of their biggest artists want to go elsewhere. Say what you like about Lee Soo Man, the artists stayed while he was there. His nephew couldn't have screwed things up harder if he tried.
