Group NCT Dream introduced their new album.
Mark, on the afternoon of the 25th at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Walker Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, during the press conference for the release of the new album ‘DREAM( )SCAPE’, said,
“A total of 6 songs are included, and it seems like an album with a clear message. Until now, as NCT Dream, we have been a team that gives dreams and hope since our debut, but this time we prepared with the intention of also conveying a message to friends who don’t have dreams.”
The album production process incorporated a lot of the members' ideas. Jeno mentioned,
"A lot came from Renjun's ideas. Other members' ideas were also heavily involved."
Renjun explained, "The title song ‘Smoothie’ was made with the intention that we would not care about the negative messages coming from the outside."
This album portrays NCT DREAM's first journey to escape from the numb reality caused by dark and difficult situations and to find an ideal dream. It aims to empathize with the worries and pains of youths living in the same era and to deliver a message of warm consolation and support.
The title track ‘Smoothie’ is a hip-hop dance song characterized by its 808 bass line, snare rhythm, and repetitive chanting, creating a groovy feel.
It confidently contains the message of blending away all the cold stares of the world towards oneself and negative emotions about oneself like a ‘Smoothie’.
The album was released this afternoon at 6 PM as both a digital and physical album.
‘Smoothie’ was made with the intention that we would not care about the negative messages coming from the outside."
It looks like SM is recycling WayV's Phantom's idea.
And is it the message to the youth, a re...of On My Youth, the last album of the same WayV?
What is SM doing? Testing ideas on WayV and then using them for other groups?
