Lee Jung Jae stars in 'Star Wars: The Acolyte,' set to be released on Disney+ this summer.
Film media Collider reported on the 10th (local time), "Interest in 'Star Wars: The Acolyte' has grown since the first trailer was revealed last year at the Star Wars Celebration in London," and "This series will be released on Disney+ this summer."
Set 50 years before 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace,' 'The Acolyte' unfolds the story of a former Jedi Padawan and their once-master investigating sinister crimes in an ever-changing galaxy.
Lee Jung Jae from 'Squid Game' joins as a Jedi Master, with Joonas Suotamo joining as a Wookiee Jedi named Kelnaka. Alongside them, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, and Charlie Barnett will appear, though the details of their roles are shrouded in secrecy.
'The Acolyte' is produced as an eight-part series. Producer Leslie Headland described the project as a mix between 'Frozen' and 'Kill Bill.'
I hope they don’t kill him off in the first episode. Hollywood always give the shittest roles to minorities and sometimes they kill off the character early on.
