LE SSERAFIM fans were perplexed and angered when they stumbled across the group's unreleased merchandise in an online resale marketplace.
On February 12th, fans made a startling discovery: signed Polaroid photos of LE SSERAFIM members had been uploaded onto a resale platform. It soon became apparent that these photos were intended as gifts for purchasers of a special magazine event.
However, fans were taken aback when they realized that the magazine had not yet been released, making these photos unreleased and unauthorized items available for sale on the resale site.
One fan shared the listing on social media and speculated that a staff member from Source Music had stolen the goods to sell online.
The netizen explained, "I think those were signed Polaroid photos that were to be sent out as an event for a magazine. It's an overseas magazine (not released yet). The polaroids are from during the filming and it was uploaded to a Korean resale site. And they can't get their hands on them unless they're 100% a staff member..."
They continued, "People were provoking them about the pricing, so they took the listing down, but what's important wasn't the price. It's that a staff member stole the idol polaroids..."
Another netizen explained that a few fans inquired the seller about the details of the polaroid photos and pointed out that this was not a schedule that was revealed yet. So the seller took down the listing and disappeared.
Korean netizens commented, "Wow," "That person got caught because they were stupid," "They were crazy," "I thought Source Music had good staff members...but this is shocking," "There were broadcast staff members who sold audience tickets too," "Why are they like that?" "Wow lol," "They were asking 1.5 million KRW (~1,118 USD) per photo," "This is legendary..." "This is the most legendary dumb staff I've ever seen," and "They are so crazy."
Doesn't have to be a staff member, could have been anyone visiting the office helped themselves to a few photos. PR materials get thrown out, chucked around offices in heaps, heck, some even get sent out, normally ahead of time, to the magazines they're being given away with.
.
I used to visit offices all the time with promo stuff, the music press in particular used to have quite literal heaps of photographs littered around. Free gifts? Boxes and boxes of them. Plus it has to have come from somewhere, you know? Like the printers. Could have been anyone.
.
Why do Knetz always think the worst of people, they also clearly have no idea how the PR world works.
