Former F.T. Island member Seunghyun recently announced that he would retire from the entertainment industry. Following his retirement announcement, he revealed that he is getting married.
According to an entertainment industry source, on February 19, Seunghyun will be tying the knot with his long-time girlfriend in June. It is said that Seunghyun is currently busy preparing for his wedding, which will take place at a well-known wedding hall in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul.
Additionally, Seunghyun is expected to take over his father-in-law's business after the wedding.
On February 15, Seunghyun took to his social media to write a heartfelt letter to fans revealing his plans to retire from the entertainment industry and live an ordinary life. He revealed that he would move overseas and return to society as an ordinary citizen.
F.T. Island members also reportedly supported Seunghyun's decision to retire from the industry. An insider source stated, "Seunghyun left the team after his exclusive contract with FNC Entertainment ended in 2019 and has not contacted the members separately since then. However, since they spent a long time together, the members also know about Seunghyun's news. It has not been decided yet whether the members would attend Seunghyun's wedding."
Meanwhile, Seunghyun debuted with F.T. Island as the group's guitarist after the original member, Wonbin, left the team in 2009. After that, Seunghyun also was active as an actor and participated in musicals such as 'Jack the Ripper' (2012), 'Summer Snow' (2013), and 'The Three Musketeers' (2014).
