On February 26 KST, police from Gangnam Police Station in Seoul apprehended a 39-year-old composer, identified as Mr. Choi, on charges related to violating the Narcotics Control Act and causing property damage.
The incident unfolded when Mr. Choi allegedly used narcotics during the early hours of February 22 KST, leading to a disturbance at an unmanned café in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu. Reportedly, he destroyed the café's furniture before departing the premises. Subsequently, Mr. Choi was observed walking shirtless through the city streets amidst heavy snowfall, purportedly while experiencing hallucinations, as he made his way to work.
Around 8:20 a.m. that same day, authorities received reports of a shirtless individual wandering in the Seolleung-ro area. Upon investigation, they identified Mr. Choi and took him into custody for his own safety. Coincidentally, shortly thereafter, another report surfaced regarding a syringe found in a nearby café, which upon examination, was confirmed to be associated with Mr. Choi.
Following a rapid drug test that yielded positive results, law enforcement promptly detained Mr. Choi and proceeded to seek an arrest warrant. The Seoul Central District Court subsequently convened an interrogation session (warrant review) for the suspect on February 24, ultimately granting the requested warrant.
Don't do drugs, kids!
